What we do

Repairs, replacements and maintenance for every kind of system

Homes, restaurants, bars and small commercial buildings. If it heats, cools or keeps something cold on Long Island or in the city, we've probably worked on it.

  • Heating Furnaces · Boilers · Heat pumps

No-heat calls, short cycling, cold rooms, pilot and ignition problems. We repair what's fixable and give you a straight answer when a replacement makes more sense than another repair.

Gas and oil furnaces, hot-water and steam boilers, heat pump systems.

  • Air conditioning Central air · Condensers

Systems that run but don't cool, frozen coils, refrigerant leaks, failed capacitors and compressors. Full condenser and air-handler replacements sized for your house, not a guess.

Repair, replacement and new central air installs.

  • Ductless mini-splits Single & multi-zone

The right fit for additions, finished basements, garages, and older Long Island homes with no ductwork. Heating and cooling from one wall unit, with each room on its own thermostat.

Installation, service and repair on all major brands.

  • Maintenance plans Spring & fall

A tune-up before each season catches the small stuff before it becomes a July breakdown. Filter changes, coil cleaning, electrical checks and a written note of anything to keep an eye on.

Ask about a yearly plan when you call.

  • Emergency repair Nights & weekends

Heat out in January or AC dead in a heat wave doesn't wait for Monday. Call the emergency line and we'll get someone out as fast as we can.

    Emergency line: (516) 655-7583

  • Commercial refrigeration Restaurants · Bars · Delis

Walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, prep tables, beer coolers and ice machines. Repairs when something's warming up, plus cleaning and maintenance so the health inspector and your food costs stay happy.

Ice machine cleaning and sanitizing, walk-in box repair, compressor and evaporator service.

  • Commercial HVAC Offices · Storefronts · Light industrial

Rooftop units, split systems and preventive maintenance for small and mid-size buildings. Scheduled service that keeps tenants comfortable and keeps the calls to a minimum.

    Installation, repair and maintenance contracts.

What to expect

How a service call with us goes

  1. Call or send the form

Tell us what's going on and where you are. We'll give you a real arrival window, not "sometime this week."

  2. Diagnosis and a price first

The tech finds the actual problem, explains it in plain English, and quotes the fix before starting. No surprise line items.

  3. Fixed, cleaned up, warrantied

We do the work, test it, leave the area the way we found it, and stand behind the repair with a warranty.

The work

Residential and light commercial, done properly

Condensers, air handlers, ductless heads, boilers, furnaces, walk-in boxes and ice machines. Whatever the equipment, the job gets tested before we call it finished.

“Fast, friendly, and professional.”

Every review we have is on Google, where we can't edit or filter them. The two things people mention most are fair pricing and quality work. Read them all, and if we've done a job for you, we'd appreciate a review of your own.

About J.R. Mechanical

A local heating and cooling company, not a call center

J.R. Mechanical has been keeping homes and businesses comfortable across Long Island and New York City for more than fifteen years.

We keep it simple. You call, you get a person, and you get honest answers. Our technicians are EPA certified, the company is fully licensed and insured, and we price the job up front so you can decide without pressure. Most of our work comes from customers who call us back and from neighbors they send our way.

We work on residential systems of every age and on the commercial side too. For restaurants and bars that means walk-in coolers, ice machines and reach-ins as well as the HVAC, because when the walk-in dies on a Friday night you need one number to call, not three.
